What We Do

Absolute Partnership combines investigative expertise and experience with the advanced application of data science to support our clients in their fight against fraud and to mitigate cyber and employee fidelity risks. We work closely with our clients in both the private and public sectors across insurance, banking, financial services and law enforcement to ensure that the highest standards of compliance are met and maintained.

We will detect fraud where necessary but our goal is, by prediction, training and preparation, to deter it first and foremost.



Non-Executive Chairman

Since graduating in Computer Science, Max’s career has spanned over 40 years in the insurance industry, with a large proportion in board level positions for insurance companies, brokers, loss adjusters and software companies.

He has targeted highly entrepreneurial organisations, often backed by private equity and more recently has held posts at Towergate, as Group Operations Director and Axa UK, as COO of the Intermediary Division. Subsequent to leaving Axa, Max set up his own consultancy providing advice to insurance related businesses, as well as technology and private equity firms.

As Non-Executive Chairman for Absolute, Max provides guidance and advice, as well as providing strategic direction across the business and particularly within our technology offering.


Following a career in the Police and Specialist Operations at Scotland Yard, David formed insurance investigation firm, Vincent Sherman Associates in 1989. By the use of modern technologies Vincent Sherman Associates grew to be an industry leader until its sale to Capcon PLC in 2003.

Absolute Partnership was founded by David and Nigel in 2004 and has followed a similar pattern in the use of technology to provide its clients with counter fraud solutions. Having designed and implemented industry award winning smart data solutions, David continues to apply advanced big data technologies to the counter fraud and security arenas.

He is a consultant for Interpol and the Security Services.

Insurance Services Director

Colin began his Insurance career at Guardian Royal Exchange and qualified as an ACII in 1981. He then went on to work at Lombard Continental before taking up a role at Independent Insurance, where he held various claims roles, eventually becoming London Market Claims Manager. Upon leaving Independent, Colin was one of the founders of Fusion Insurance Services and was UK Claims Manager until 2006, when he established his own insurance claims consultancy HMA Ltd.

Colin has had a longstanding relationship with David Beardsworth and Nigel Strongitharm, which led to HMA being integrated with Absolute and Colin becoming a Director. Colin is responsible for our overall Insurance Services business.

Data & Intelligence Director

Before setting up his own company to advise on online investigations and Open Source Intelligence, Stephen spent 11 years at a top accounting firm. During that time, he headed the Fraud and Forensic Group, working closely with the Police, HMRC and private sector.

Stephen is a Trustee Director of the Fraud Advisory Panel and he chairs their Cybercrime Working Group. His experience in e-crime and IT governance includes training courses for Police forces and advising in the build-up to the 2012 Olympic Games.

He advises a number of major insurance and financial services firms and is also an adviser to the City of London Police Economic Crime Directive.

Counter-Fraud Director

Nigel is a former Metropolitan police detective, expert in the investigation of complex fraud. In 1989, Nigel co-founded Vincent Sherman Associates as a specialist insurance investigation firm and continued to work with David Beardsworth through to the formation of Absolute Partnership in 2004.

Nigel is responsible for motor investigations, particularly concerning staged/contrived collisions and deals with our key partner accounts.

Non Executive Director

Andy is the former Chief Constable of Norfolk and Assistant Commissioner, Specialist Operations at New Scotland Yard. He was responsible for counter terrorism, protecting the Royal Family, government ministers and visiting diplomats resident in London. He led the investigation into the 7/7 bombings and all subsequent terror attempts between 2005 and 2008.

Andy is now a strategic advisor to corporate clients.

Finance Director

Mark graduated from Bristol University with a degree in Economics and Accounting. After a traditional start with Price Waterhouse in audit, he then moved into Industry, where he took up his first Finance Director role at the age of 29. A number of senior roles culminated in his appointment as FD of Misys Financial Systems in 2000.

Following the merging of the management of MFS and Countrywide, his role expanded to take in responsibility for insurer relationships and the Countrywide Network. He played a major part in the MBO, re-branding to Open GI, and subsequent sale of the business to Towergate for £276 million.

Through his role in Salient Solutions Ltd, Mark has worked with a number of Insurance industry businesses over the last five years where his main focus is on finance, contract negotiation and building value.

Operations Director

Jill was Head of Intelligence at New Scotland Yard for the Serious Crime Directorate and has a broad range of experience as a Senior Investigating Officer. Her extensive UK and international investigative expertise has been at strategic and operational levels including latterly working abroad in a high-risk environment.

Since returning to London her focus is on supporting corporate clients across the public and private sector to prevent and reduce the vulnerabilities and cost of fraud by using the right technologies.


Responsible Profit

It is a commercial fact that, to survive and thrive, all businesses need to focus on achieving an operating profit and fulfilling the aims of shareholders.

Nonetheless, there is no need to make excessive profit or to strive for unrealistic goals that can only be achieved by failing to invest in infrastructure and people, or exploiting our staff or our clients. We firmly believe that it is possible to strike a balance between the need of our business to produce responsible profitability while exceeding our client’s expectations by virtue of committed and loyal people wholly in tune with our culture.
